    <answer label="Ray Kinsella">Ray Kinsella was the optimistic farmer played by Kevin Costner (C RHP, b. 1955) in the 1989 film “Field of Dreams.” Like Kinsella, Rutledge was an Iowan, serving as dean of the University of Iowa Law School before joining the Court.  “If you build it, they will come,” was Kinsella’s motto, an idea that paralleled Rutledge’s view that building government capacity was essential for solving the nation’s problems.  Both had honorable goals that motivated their actions: Kinsella to clear the name of his hero Shoeless Joe Jackson, Rutledge to help FDR pull the nation out of the Great Depression.</answer>
